Drivers

Truck Drivers – Class 5
Flatdeck, Tanker and Curtainsider
Permanent, Full Time

Our talented team of Class 5 drivers are looking for motivated, hardworking characters to join them on the road.

We have a number of positions available for experienced, Class 5 heavy vehicle operators to work out of Taranaki covering our flatdeck, tanker and curtainsider fleets.

The job description includes:
• Working as part of a dedicated team
• Prioritising safety and compliance at all times while completing load plans and daily log
• Maintaining a clean and well-presented fleet of vehicles, daily inspection of vehicles and reporting of any defects or damage
• Driving in an exemplary manner, following NZTA rules and regulations as well as adhering to all Symons Transport policies and procedures
• Liaising with all customers, members of the public and work colleagues politely and professionally at all times
• Complying with health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe workplace
• Having good time management skills and being able to follow instructions/directions well
• Using technology to accurately record hours, mileage, load plans and any other relevant information
• Being a well-presented team player with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Truck Driver – Class 4/Class 5L
Permanent, Full Time

We are searching for hardworking, dedicated individuals who are serious about taking their trucking skills to the next level.

If you’re a Class 4/Class 5L vehicle operator who is motivated to gain their Class 5 full licence, come and do it with Symons.

We have a Class A team ready to share their knowledge and expertise to help you gain the skills and experience required to achieve your Class 5. And this will all be done while you work as a full time, permanent employee at Symons Group.

Truck Driver – Class 5
Flatdeck
Based in Hamilton

We have a great opportunity to run our Flatdeck on behalf of our VIP client (Global Metals Solutions).

• Are you a class 5 heavy vehicle operator with flatdeck experience?
• Are you motivated, have a positive attitude and are committed to delivering the highest level of service?
• Are you team player who thrives off doing it right the first time, every time?

If you are nodding your head and answering ‘yes’ to these questions, this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for.

We are on the hunt for an experienced and hardworking Class 5 Heavy Vehicle Operator based in Hamilton. This is a full-time permanent position, and you will be home every night. You will need to have 2-3 years flatdeck experience and be able to build and maintain excellent relationships with our clients.

Logistics Coordinator

We are on the hunt for an experienced Logistics Coordinator who is capable of balancing complex customer requirements with the needs of our drivers and our business.

What will you do?
• Manage all areas of logistics with a focus on flatdeck, DG tanker, container and other oil and gas movements
• Establish strong relationships with our customers, ensuring their expectations are exceeded.
• Be a reliable point of contact for our drivers, ensuring their health and wellbeing is made a top priority.

What do you need?
• Experience in a logistics or dispatch role highly desirable.
• Outstanding communication skills, problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft suite.
• A high level of professionalism in everything you do.
• Flexibility, there will be overtime and weekend work required.
